In Regina where I remember the winter night
It’s a fairytale of color
Where the darkness meets the light
It is snow forever crunching
Making diamonds in the light

You can go to the Sask hotel on Victoria street and try out their cheese and fruit platter withs some wine to warm your body
You can work out at the Crown club
Stay a little longer for the hottub
And there is Jerry with his smile forever charming
With clean towels
You can have ribs at Tony Roma’s
You can have Tai chicken curry at Earls and see your friends
You can walk around Wascana lake in fifty five minutes
See the birds practicing their flights to go back South

There is a bridge over Wascana river
It’s the pretties I’ve ever seen
O to feel the years of wisdom
Just to touch the faded colors
I like the buzz of Albert street
Ilike the Parliament building with it’s marble
A bit too much bit it all fits in
As part of history
And why not
When it’s a landmark in the bigger space
And you can go anywhere in the city
If you have 20 minutes: you might get change
Because everything happens within the boundaries of the ringroad

I’ve seen the blizzards that stops traffic and keeps us home
To stay inside for hot coffee
This spoil is not a sin
I’ve seen thunderstorms that become rivers, become pools
It’s a these things that bring you closer: for alone you will not last
This is what I miss
Harrington mews
Where the neighbors garage sale blocks the way
It’s the only way you’ll get stuck in traffic
Cause they clean it up soon when we’re snowed in
